一項工作或計劃的過程中，往往會遭遇甚至牽扯出很多有的沒的問題。通常，這些問題也許不大，但若不去處理，又會影響整個進度甚至最後的結果。就好像一條由很多小細繩連結起來的大粗麻繩，每一條條細繩相接的地方要是鬆了（loose），到時候用力一拉，可能馬上就會斷成一截一截的，所以先把一些枝節的部分搞定（tie up綁緊），才能像拔河一樣，用力一拉，就把對方拉倒！

mei：i think we should speed up on the marketing campaign, otherwise it might be too late.

mei：我想我們應該要加快整個行銷活動的速度，不然就來不及了。

john：you’re quite right. but having said that, i do feel there are still quite a lot of issues to be solved first.

john：沒錯。可是話說回來，我覺得還有很多事情要先搞定才行。

mei：but there’s only 1 month ahead so timing is really the key here.

mei：可是只剩下一個月了，時間真的很緊迫。

john：have we got the regional office’s approval yet?

john：總部同意了嗎？

mei：it’s still pending there…

mei：目前還懸而未決……

john：has our production house sent us the mock-up product yet?

john：我們的生產廠把樣品寄過來了嗎？

mei：they are still liaising with the creative department for design.

mei：他們還在跟創意部門討論設計的部分。

john：hey, mei, we need to tie up those loose ends first so we can move on quickly and efficiently. as they always say, more haste, less speed!

john：嘿，mei，我們要先把這些枝節的部分先搞定，才有辦法快速有效率的進行下一步。俗話說，倉促草率會事倍功半！
