商場上有勝有敗。如果不只是單純的打敗對方，而是還要把對方打得落花流水的話，在英文裡，你除了可以使用基本的”beat（打敗）”之外，還可以使用更傳神的”mop the floor with…”，這就好比你把對手當做”mop（拖把）”一般用來擦地板，那種感覺更棒！

boss：so i guess we’ re all set for our new product launch?

老闆：所以我想我們對於新產品上市都準備好了嗎？

employee a：yes, boss, the advertisement campaign has been well prepared.

員工a：是的，老闆，廣告活動都已經妥善準備好了。

employee b：our retail price is also much more competitive than others.

員工b：我們的零售價格也比其他品牌都更具競爭力。

employee c：i’ ve also checked with factory. the delivery time is no problem.

員工c：我已經跟工廠確認了，交貨時間也沒有問題，

boss：good! so let’ s mop the floor with all our competitors.

老闆：很好！那麼就讓我們把競爭對手都打得落花流水吧！.

all employees：yes sir!

所有員工：遵命，老闆！

當然這句用法更常使用於體育競賽中，藉以形容因比賽積分懸殊而大獲全勝的戰況。就像最近建仔在大聯盟屢傳捷報，痛宰其他球隊，我們就可以說：

chien-ming has led the yankees to mop floor with boston red sox again!

建仔又再次帶領洋基隊痛宰紅襪隊了！
